Curling
SW Scotland is blessed with the mountain biker's dream the '7 Stanes'. We are situated only 300 yards from the entrance to the Dalbeattie 7 Stanes trail head. Wide gently sloping tracks are suitable for beginners, whilst the dramatic singletrack and black graded sections will test advanced riders.
Our location provides an ideal base for you to explore Dalbeattie and the other 'Stanes' Routes.
Mountain bikes can be hired from the farm , plus a Cycle Shop for servicing and spares is available in Dalbeattie & Castle Douglas
Located only 1.5 miles from the Solway Coast we are in easy reach of beaches and the dramatic coastline. Whether you want beaches for family fun or quiet secluded bays to lazy away the day or walk the dog you'll not be disappointed. There is a small yacht club and slipway at Kippford suitable to launch jet ski.

Dumfries and Galloway is a nature lovers paradise. RSPB have several reserves along the Solway Coast, Wigtown has a pair of nesting Osprey and the Lauriston Red Kite Centre is nearby. Only 1.5 miles away the quaint seaside village Kippord gives access to a low tide path across to Rough Island.

You really are spoilt for choice with some spectacular and varied walking. Close by is the Jubilee Path linking Rockcliffe and Kippford (2 miles), for the more strenuous take the dramatic cliff path between Rockcliffe and Sandy Hills (6 miles) or if you are really energetic climb Screel Hill or Criffel for some superb views over the Solway Firth and into the Lake District beyond.

A real taste of the wilderness, thousands of acres of lochs, forest and moor land. Take the raiders road - a drive through the forest - stop and picnic at Otter pool or look out for the Red Deer.
Keep a look out for the mountain goats or stop off at the dramatic viewing point where you are suspended over an ancient hunting trap valley
Awarded in 2009 Dark Skies status - making it the best place in the UK to stargaze.
Dalbeattie (1.5 miles away) is the town built on Granite, the local museum charts the history of the local granite quarries and how they supplied stone for the London Embankment.
Castle Douglas - The Food Town (8 miles away)
Lively market town with a great selection of shops, particulary great food shops. Craft butchers, fishmongers, bakeries, health food stores and deli's. Several Coffee Shops and cafes.
Kirkcudbright - The Artists Town
Situated further west along the Solway Coast - the picturesque town has been wooing artists for years. Many galleries are tucked away in the back streets, trawlers share the quayside with launches offering river rides.
